About Alan Haburchak

Alan Haburchak is a digital journalist and Adjunct Professor of Digital Media at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, who recently moved back to New York after working at Caixin Online, a leading Chinese business publication. He was previously part of TIME Magazine’s TIME.com multimedia team.

Before becoming adjunct faculty, Alan spent a year as a Digital Media Fellow at Columbia, working closely with faculty and staff to expand the scope of multimedia journalism being taught at the Journalism School.

As a student at Columbia he spent his time reporting and producing multimedia content for the online magazine nyc24.com, as well as on a Masters project exploring the lives of laid-off Bear Stearns employees in addition to working as reporter, producer, and editor on coverage of the 2008 election in New York City.

He is available for video production, freelance multimedia journalism, or web development projects.
